Release of 《逆光》Album

Today is finally the day!!! However, i have managed to download all the songs already. This album has exceeded my expectations. I am very happy with it and i want to learn the lyrics asap.

Backtracking a bit, david and me bought the same mp3 player at hongliang, the samsung K5. David bought it for me as my birthday present and this mp3 player comes in real handy for me to listen to stef sun song since my ipod video got stolen. But this player very weird, cannot sing chinese words while song playing though the sound quality is good and it has a speaker with it.

New unit posting will be out tmr and i shall keep my fingers crossed. Few more hours and i will be having the album, i will also be changing my ball drilling today... Shall blogged again after i received the album.

《逆光》Album review

《逆光》- 8.5/10

A slow rock song. The starting of the song is slow and soothing while it enters the chorus in a strong rock style. Upon listening to this song, you can feel that Stefanie Sun is back with a lot of hope no matter in her love life or career. A very powerful 1st hit of the album.

《梦游》- 7/10

This song makes one feel like you are in dreamland. The instrumental of the song is very nice and can destress you from a day's work. It gives the very musical feeling, just like you are watching a live musical in esplanade. A very refreshing song indeed.

《咕叽咕叽》- 9/10

A fast and funny track. The lyrics of this song dont really make any sense, but make you wanna laugh. The song enters a slow soothing part at a point and has a small sexy english rap which makes the song very unique. An excellent breakthough of the album

《我怀念的》- 9/10

Her typical love ballad. The song lyrics is very meaningful and this song is real touching. It was moved up to the 2nd hit of the album suddenly and many would understand why after listening to it. Its story line seems to be the same as《我也很想他》and sounds as good as well. Highly recommended song!

《安宁》- 8/10

A really slow and close to the heart song. Nice melody and good lyrics makes a perfect match for the production of this song under Stefanie's hands. On top of that, her clear vocals brings out the emotions of this song very well. However, it will be a better song if it was lengthened. It gives me the 《眼泪成诗》and 《同类》mix together the feeling.

《飘着》- 8.5/10

A slow rock number. Very soothing piano accompaniment at the start plus good expression from her vocals before a rock element chorus makes this song irresistable. It gives me the exact forceful feeling as 《逆光》has on me. Nice bridge and the re entry to chorus is excellent.

《爱情的花样》- 6.5/10

A fast track. The starting verse of the song is nice, but when it enter the chorus, it minus points for the song. It gives the very retro and hokkien feeling, brings you back to the 60s when a-go-go dance is popular.

《漩涡》- 9/10
A love ballad which requires lots of skills. Its understandable why she took 12 days to record this song as the tune is varying as she needs to constantly change between falsetto and her normal voice, not to forget the emotions needed to be expressed in the song. The song enters a rock style in the bridge, making the song a different kind of ballad and my personal number one of the album. Highly recommended song!

《需要你》- 8.5/10

A love ballad produced by Stefanie herself. I love the melody and musical arrangement of the song as well as the excellent chorus which contains a killer falsetto part. This proves why she remains as the best female singer in the region. Beautiful song.

《关于》- 7.5/10

Not the typical kind of slow number from yanzi. It gives a very different feeling with a very strong bit in throughout the chorus. Refreshing feeling and its Stefanie personal favourite of the album.

Overall: 81.5%

This is the best rating for a album I have given, this album is full of hits and i am sure it would be well received by the public.

POC!!!

13th March 2007 was my POC and i have officially completed my 7 weeks modified BMT at Tekong. It was a very joyous day for all of my platoon mates and i as the feeling of not being close to home seriously suck. The bad thing on that day was my company was the last to book out at 9pm. We had to help clear up the parade square for the POP people and we have to wait for all of them to leave Tekong with their parents.

I am now having a 12 days break off army before i get into my new unit on 26th March. I will only know my unit on the 23rd though, one day after my idol release her new album haha.Life after POC is so relaxing, i can say bye to 1/2 left down, area cleaning and marching for now. For now its movies, mahjong, go out, bowling lol. I have started to bowl more often now and i m picking up my timing, still quite unstable though. I bowl competitvely finally at inter club last night and the lanes was totally different from the last time i was thr. The last time the lane was so oily and yesterday was so freaking dry until my ball die out and starts to hook at the end. I see all the hook ball struggle like mad as they can hardly hit the pocket unless they r gd wif the outside line. I feel that i could handle the lane if not for the lack of practice and my club would be winning 5-0 yest and not 3-2 only. Juz like me change my drilling 1st and train hard and i m sure i can be back on form.

Its just 4 more days away before i lay my hands on stefanie sun's new album, her 1st 2 hits are out and they r awesome. I m sure the rest of the songs are of a high standard oso after listening to the demos. haha.

This song is really not the normal kind of her song. Its a slow rock with a bridge, really unique song. Cant wait for the rest of the songs to b heard.

So far its confirm that <<逆光>> and <<我怀念的>> are the 1st 2 hits respectively. The release date has been pushed back 1 day to 22nd March haizz... I cant waait to hear all the songs though.
